Online Dating Services - Is it for Men or Women?

Have you ever thought about using a dating service?  Both men and women use these services, but in reality more men will pay for this.

Following a survery for Match.com (a very popular online dating company) it was found that only 40% of the members were women against 60% men.  This is the reason why men are more likely to have to pay for the membership whilst many dating sites will allow women to register for free.

Why is it that when it comes to a dating service, women are shy to join or to make the first move?” It could be that women do not want to be seen as dominant in a relationship.

Usually women want to flirt, to be romanced and to have a little bit of fun before a date is made, at least some of them.  On an online dating site, these women have to come out and say “I want a date, this is what I want, this is what I can offer.  This is far too "out of the comfort zone" for many women.

However this doesn’t mean that men should despair about using dating services.  For instance, while many women might be shy completing a profile of their own, they may browse through the profiles men have created.  If they see someone who looks interesting, they may then be willing to create a profile so that they can contact the person.  However it must be said that there are still a fair number of women on the dating databases.

Here are a few advices for men about how to use an online dating service.

Too many men don’t take full advantage of this when using a online dating service.

Also If more women were confident that a dating service date would lead to a relationship, more women would use the service.

So, when using a dating service, women need you to be as specific as possible.
